Switching back to gplv2 isn't as easy as accepting this pr, even though I think it's good that it's being considered, IHM posted valid concerns in the PR

I agree, I also won't spend more time on it because that time I personally cannot spend right now.

I feel maybe biggest problem right now is any new contribution are under wrong license, so we are walk in wrong direction and harder and harder to fix. I am happy for re-license any of my contribution under new license. I would guess most or all contributor feel the same way. Maybe we can check in PR and leave a note saying if any contributor is not satisfied with new license, please notify AzerothCore team and their contributions can be remove.
This is also not 100% correct because permission in legal world should be gotten first, but I think is best path way to future - new code will be under correct license and previous code has way to be re-licensed or removed. I am also not a license expert, though, so this is only one idea!

you will never get every contributor to agree with it, some might even be deceased

The real problem is that any code from the time of the fork and erroneous relicensing has been submitted as agplv3, that code either needs to be removed or the contributors from that point and up until now all need to be consulted on whether or not they are happy with rebasing

Or you need to move it to separate files, like pointed out earlier

yes, so we either shutdown the project over the license or keep it as it is
