When you manually download the files rather than cloning the repo, that's what it does to tell you what branch it is

I've discussed this with others before, technically "easy" yeah but it's really hard to pass information around, so it wouldn't be a widespread bypass easily

Oh yes I remember when I got some zipped repos it was tailed by the branch name, totally forgot it XD Thanx (:
