In order to use the portal, you have to have the spell, which is granted to you when you win the battle. Because the teleport is not to the camp, but to the center of the map. So if the opposing faction has the event in their possession, you would find yourself surrounded by enemies.

You can make a script, that if the player has the spell, then take him to the center of the camp, and if he doesn't have it, then take him to the alliance or horde bases. But it would be a custom issue. I don't know how it works on the official servers, but since I've been using this emulator, I think it's always been this way. It can only be used if you have the spell for having won the event.
