Guys, I’ve run into a problem: there are too many players in the Dalaran zone and it causes a huge FPS drop for everyone. There are about 500–600 players in the area. What would be the best way to optimize this? Should I split it into phases, or maybe someone has a better idea?

I don't think the core supports any way of layering or phasing too many players in an area, probably doing what ascesion does it's probably the easiest bandaid, having a big object where people can interact to choose 1 of X phases. And reset their phase when they are out of dalaran area i would say.
But you probably would need to change all npc (in dala) phasemasks to be visible on given "phase" selection

Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing, but to make it an automatic phase calculation. And also handle NPCs in case of failures or other issues. Unfortunately, yes, it would mean moving all NPCs into different phases as well, and also adjusting objects so they are visible in all phases.
