What you can and can't do is irrelevant since we don't have sharding in azerothcore. AC isn't multithreaded so it's very limited on the number of threads it can utilize.

I can run MySQL, apache with aowow and a worldserver running with 1000 playerbots on a 4-core system running at 2.5GHz without it even getting close to lagging. His won't be overloaded in the least.
