When I thought about implementing the AH search, I was thinking to utilize the trie data structure for item names. Since (as I believe) most searches are by name and it's most heavy operation, I think it would significantly reduce the load. However, it would complicate the implementation, and I’m not aware of use cases (there are no huge realms on AC) where the current implementation would struggle.
