i would say it was weird move to drop mariadb, json queries are not used, none of mysql8 features either, also by recent mysql docs, several keywords which are causing incompatibility gonna be removed eventually in mysql 9, for example ```ON DUPLICATE KEY ... VALUES``` VALUES keyword is being deprecated for such use

You should have spoken in the PR which was open for quite a while. Your input might have been useful there. Now it's just accusations of lazyness and complaints.

i missed that pr when it was in action, i call lazyness with reason, its just few simple queries which needs updating and mariadb would fit fine, but instead dropping support.
