I compliled AC last night and noticed it's slow to boot up and get running, generally speaking. I booted again today and it still seems slow, specially compared to bare Trinitycore. Could there be a specific reason for that? Is AC simply slower?

Define slow. Starting it up when compiling in debug, yes. In RelWithDebInfo I get about a 6-8 seconds startup without preloading enabled.

The only time is takes longer, with varying numbers, is when I use MariaDB. Sometimes it's about equal but frequently enough it increases startup time.

I'm just mentioning what I've noticed. If I restrict the performance of the machine running MySQL obviously the time goes up.
