I didn't try to sniff 3.3.5 or retail/classic, and I have a question related to the server movement packets. At the moment, we are not utilizing SMSG_COMPRESSED_MOVES, we are sending every move as a separate packet. As a result, I believe these movement opcodes can generate ~25-50% bandwidth usage on the server side.
Maybe somebody knows how Blizzard is dealing with movement packets or can share some sniffs?
Are they utilizing SMSG_COMPRESSED_MOVES in most cases? Do they send this packet once in N milliseconds (more packets you gather, more benefits from compression, but it can impact gameplay)?
