One last question, when do we run the cmake command. This last time I was able to run git pull, make -j 16, make install.. I assume that's "compiling"... but I remember on one of the previous patches I also had to run cmake... I guess only if make -j 16 fails then run cmake?

(and happy to say, my current compile is at the moment before the squish). the make -j 16, and make install all worked. 2023-04-23 or something did take a while but no errors. So, only my question of when to run cmake perisists. Appreciate the tips!! I screen shot my commands this time for the future.

cmake generates the makefile, so you only need to run the cmake command again if there are changes to the cmake build script. i also know that ninja automatically rebuilds cmake projects if it detects that needs to be done, not sure if normal make does the same.

also about this: maybe the wiki could suggest using a treeless clone instead of a historyless clone? `git clone https://github.com/azerothcore/azerothcore-wotlk/ --depth 0` vs `git clone https://github.com/azerothcore/azerothcore-wotlk/ --filter tree:0`

typically gives similar reductions in repo size but allows for easier checking out of old versions and similar if that is needed for development down the line

i mean it does not matter for you anymore, since you already cloned the repo. if you still have problems with a shallow clone you can use `git fetch --unshallow` to pull in the entire history and everything
