Like I said, it needs the dist. It's very simply put a template that gives the server values if they're missing from the conf. Therefore it technically needs .conf and .conf.dist

Changes you make to the .dist are to be put in the .conf, but the .dist is to be left at default

in older repos u hade to change the name (delete the .dist) to work
