personally my only issues with SOAP is the bloat and it's traditional use of XML, both of which a re just personal annoyances of mine, mostly because the combination reminds me of SAML

As someone who had to custom-write a AWS lambda shim that converts SAML to OIDC and back, so that SAML-compatable solutions could authenticate over OIDC/OAuth
