I can only assume this server is sending worldstates to all northrend zones instead of just WG, which would explain what I'm seeing... and not seeing.

I don't think you'll get a timer of the next WG without changing zone/relogging (if not being inside WG). They implemnted that packet in Cata (and also queueing in UI panel). Of course, you can always send that packet to all players on the server when the WG ends, but I don't think it's Blizz

no, you're right, I've been trying to figure outhow this was happening for like 6 hours, looking at default azerothcore code and seeing the behavior on what I _thought_ was my dev server
