The cause would be that the username or password is incorrect

its 100% not a spelling issue though 3 people have tried a dozen+ times

yeah ok, so creating a new account worked for that login but why would all our old logins stop working if i made no changes since last time anyone played?

Verify that the accounts are in the database. Try resetting their passwords.
