Hello people here,
My first time to ask some help regarding server installation.
Here is the thing;
- rig : Apple Silicon M2Max 32gb
- vmangos server(for 1.12.1) is already running natively in MacOS Sonoma with MariaDB, it uses significantly less system power than to run in Windows11-Arm64+VMwareFusion.
- I turn on WindowsVM to run game client.
- Currently, AzerothCore is installed inside Windows11-Arm64/VMWare Fusion.
- Because I already noticed server running in native MacOS seriously reduced overhead and system power, (simply running AC3.3.5 is draining like 25% CPU with many GBs of ram with 4-cores VM setup, and fan kicks in even without client running), it would be very much welcomed to run it in native MacOS rather than in Windows VM.
- But the challenge is that, when I first tried to install AC3.3.5 in MacOS following your official guide, it generated serious MariaDB install-error for 1.12.1. I had to wipe entire OS to clean-up my mac.
- 1.12.1 is running beautifully, my goal/intention is to run both servers side-by-side without interrupting each other. Well, I think I have to change server port from 8085 to 8086 or something else, and change DB port to something else too. Other than that, I am afraid MariaDB and MySQL may make conflicts.
Any advice?
