Please note that the video you've linked was created 2 years ago. It's likely outdated.
Many users end up skipping docker and going with vanilla instead, because there's virtually no suport and they can't run it.

It's surprisingly easy and it's hard to make mistakes that would prevent you from continuing (Even if some work is required to fix that mistake, which is usually very easy) so I don't think you should be scared at all
