No, you add them to a folder called `lua_scripts` that'll be created in the same folder as worldserver/worldserver.exe

You can add/remove scripts while the server is running and simply use `reload eluna` in the terminal or in-game to load stuff that's in there. Only if you update Eluna do you need to compile anything Lua-related.

In 99% of the cases you don't have to do a full recompile when you add or remove C++ modules either, or even when you update azerothcore. A regular build is sufficient.
