hi guys I have been disconnected for many months and finally I wanted to get back into things. I saw the announcementy of the MySQL and MariaDB version update requirements.

I ran `mysql --version` and it says `mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.6.18-MariaDB, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper`, so am I still good or do I still need to update MySQL?

You are running MariaDB, so you'll need to remove that and instead install a supported version of MySQL (probably 8.4 LTS is your best bet)

Not sure if there's any particulars to worry about for Debian if that is what you're using though

Then just removing MariaDB/installing MySQL *should* be fine

Yes, but if you care about what exists on your existing server, I would export the data you have and make backups of it. Shouldn't be too hard to import the data to the new DB

I would only need to export the following databases, correct?

`MariaDB [(none)]> show databases;
+--------------------+
Database
+--------------------+
acore_auth
acore_characters
acore_world
information_schema
mysql
performance_schema
sys
+--------------------+`
