And yes it's been done before, but I decided to make farming Netherwing all the more easier. I needed something big, glowy and completely out of place.
The solution: Murmur!
He's big and shiny, and you can walk through him so you aren't out of range of the gathering node. There's actually no possible way you can fly over this bugger and not see him.
Updated for patch 3.0.8 and beyond!
Because even though we have new drakes, the Netherdrakes are still the most stunning.

As for the Everfrost Chip, there's currently nothing that can be done as the model is a very scaled down version of a large ice shard. The dark portal, as one of the threads shows, is smaller than your character when replacing the everfrost chip.
