Just a regular *build* in visual studio or *make* on Linux is all you need. Of course you should get in the habit of always running cmake when you update so you don't run the risk of errors that confuse you because it's trying to access code that doesn't exist in the project.

You also can't grab the database from one source and use for another and assume it'll work. They may have differences that'll cause conflicts. That's not about repacks though, and if that's what you're trying to use you'll have to talk to whoever made it instead.
