There's no logs folder unless you specify it.

On both Windows and Linux the log files are next to the executable

does the log level in the conf stack? so if i set it to 6 it'll give me everything?

nah, the log files give me jack... we're going to reverse the setup and get the remote client to install the server and then i'll try to connect to them to eliminate/identify my router as the issue.
