Quote:So, I'm using these textures for a personal project of mine. They are all (save for one exception) higher resolution than normal WoW faces. They can be used in-game but I refuse to entertain such a notion until there is a BLP converter that converts in high quality (hint hint) with the amount of colors necessary to make it look good and not your 1st grade science project gone horribly wrong.

Also I unfortunately could not add shoulder pads to these preview models; a few of them would undoubtedly look more kickass with them! And also note that none of these have been altered in any way and have only been used in Photoshop for transparent backgrounds.

So here are my works!:

If I recall correctly, this is actually my first test to see if the textures would still work if I increased the texture resolution size. Since it worked, I gave her some detailed eyes. I did not add much more than that (though her outfit is also customized).

This one actually is actually textured in standard resolution. It was originally higher resolution but I decided it was not very necessary so I scaled it down. There is definitely a lot less clarity and sharpness in the face than there would have otherwise been. The aim I was shooting for here was a wood elf concept, so she was not really meant to be the epitome of female beauty, but still pretty in her own way.

Any of you Neverwinter Nights players should be able to recognize Aribeth. While it's obviously not the main attraction of this texturing, the face took a ridiculously long time to texture in and of itself. And then THE ARMOR. Talk about a LONG TIME. Whew. I spent so much time that I can't stomach to spend any more time even talking about it.

This is a work that I've continuously retextured again and again and again because I'm really anal about the appearance of this one and I still don't really like it that much. I'll probably have an update on this one at some point, perhaps. Romaguh.

WOAH

You have no idea how often I felt pressured to just say "**** it" and completely ditch this one, or at least just do it on yet another blood elf female (as belves are infinitely easier to texture, imo). The Aribeth one took a long time, but this took an ETERNITY. 18 generations of your bloodline have lived and died from initiation to completion of this texturing job. But I managed to pull through in the end, and I'm glad that I did. This one is perhaps the one texturing job that I am the proudest of and maybe my greatest work yet.

Quote:Well, the first one looks quite nice I must say.

The others (save the last one) just look... well somewhat cheesy but I understand the effort you put into these.

The last one, looks better off as 2D imo since it doesn't look complete (eyes need fixing and all).

Regardless, don't let my thoughts diminish the value of these projects.

Quote: BLP files are limited by DXT compression. Try saving as DDS and see if its high quality enough. If it is, its possible to do the same in BLPs.

You maybe should tell your converter to use DXT and not a bitmap.

Quote: They are not. The textures are mostly composited images from photographs or 2D artwork.

I'll also have to look into that, schlumpf, thanks. [Image: smile.png]
