I'm doing my edits by renaming the .m2, animations, and skins. Then mainly editing the CharSections.dbc. When needed I edit ChrRaces.dbc for a Boot Fix, CharHairGeosets.dbc for Hair, CharacterFacialHairStyles.dbc for facial features, and CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc for a Size Fix. This way I can focus solely on changing a specific Race/Sex while leaving the opposite Sex almost untouched.
I use MPQMaster for creating .MPQs, MyWarCraftStudio for viewing .MPQs, DBC Editor for well editing .dbc, DBCUtil for converting .dbc <->.csv, Excel for editing the .csv, IrfanView for renaming files, and WoWModelEdit 2.3 by kynox for making the .MPQ actually work in WoW. The WoWModelEdit is linked at the bottom of this post.
I think it's pointless to post pictures because if you asked for a model to look like a Human then every single Race->Human picture would look the same.
Directions: Place this MPQ file in your "World of WarcraftData" folder. Download WoWMe from the link at the bottom of this post. Place WoWMe in your main /World of Warcraft folder. Run WoWMe. It starts WoW. At the log in screen press F8. Now just log in and you will be using the new model edit. If at any time you don't want the model edit simply delete it or put it in a different folder (outside of the WoW directory) and start WoW normally. If you need to patch WoW then you will need to do this. If any edit fails to work please post the name of the edit and what exactly is the problem.

Don't go searching through the pages looking for an edit that's not listed here. If it's not listed here then I have not created it yet. I update this post every time I made new edits.

This edit didn't take very long. Same Race edits appear to be the easiest because they share so many files. Two things I noticed about this edit is the Beards aren't full or fluffy. I need to figure out where hair gets it's shape/fullness from. Until then hair is kinda flat. But it doesn't look bad! Another thing, lol, is the Female models require a file called "NakedTorsoSkin" and the Males do not. Since I don't create/edit .blps yet there was nothing I could do to correct it. So these Males are wearing bras with a slightly very discolored chest. Unless you watch naked night elf females dance a lot then it's nothing you'll ever see.
EDIT!!! I added blank .blps and created fake TorsoSkin files so no more bras on males! Updated the download link.

I've been trying to create the edit for a while now but it seems my computer/something is stopping it working.
This edit didn't take very long. Same Race edits appear to be the easiest because they share so many files. Two things I noticed about this edit is the Beards aren't full or fluffy. I need to figure out where hair gets it's shape/fullness from. Until then hair is kinda flat. But it doesn't look bad! Another thing, lol, is the Female models require a file called "NakedTorsoSkin" and the Males do not. Since I don't create/edit .blps yet there was nothing I could do to correct it. So these Males are wearing bras with a slightly very discolored chest. Unless you watch naked night elf females dance a lot then it's nothing you'll ever see.
EDIT!!! I added blank .blps and created fake TorsoSkin files so no more bras on males! Updated the download link.

I went ahead and tried Human Female to Human Male. I take back what I said about Same Race swaps being easy. Human Females have earrings which can only be changed through a .dbc and Males have Beards which can be changed by both .dbc and .blps. I kept getting a Male face with invisible features so until I can figure out exactly how to manipulate the files I've just removed the facial features; beards. So all the Male player characters are clean shaven.
I'll check try the troll edit out later today or something.

That's awesome, cheers. The problem i always had was swapping females to males, guess it wasnt just me. Will +rep from main site acc when my payment goes through, matercard eems to hate me today.
Would be nice if someone could figure out how to manipulate these files though, spent a good 5 hours trying to fix it to no avail on saturday evening :/
