To answer your second question, yeah that is basically what is happening. As for your first, to be honest I don't know. I looked through the video and through wowhead to see what I could find, but I got nothin. Try sending [Kronus] a PM, maybe?

Yeah, like you already mentioned the catform model is a "model" and not a "spell" so I can't do that, sorry
