[Archive] Fel Fire Patch 4.2.2
Quote: Hello everyone. I'm back with my eccentric patches.
Do you like warlocks? How about locks with fel fire insted of boring regular fire? If the answer is yes then look no further. I like blasting my enemies with fire. But a destruction warlock should not look the same as a fire mage. That is why I have created this patch where all the warlock spells that involve fire have been changed. I was also heavily inspired by Aphrodite and his (or her) work.

Allow me to clarify what the patch does. It only changes the apperance of warlock spells. That means that if you fight a fire mage then his spells will still look like regular red fire. I also changed the apperance of soul harvest and soul burn. And as a final touch I gave the felguard a giant burning axe. Here is a list of the exact changes I have made.
Imp firebolt to Fel firebolt
Immolate to Fel Immolate
Rain of Fire to Rain of Fel Fire
Searing Pain to Fel Searing Pain
Soul Fire to Fel Soul Fire
Hellfire to Fel Hellfire
Immolation Aura to Fel Immolation Aura
Incinerate to Fel Incinerate
Unending Breath to Skull of Guldan fel effect
Conflagrate to Fel Conflagrate
Shadowflame to Shadowflame from your own mouth (Imagine in demon form)
Bane of Havoc to Fel Bane of Havoc

4.2.2.14545 Download: WoWPatcher(14545)nossc.zip | xup.in
Also remember to put the patch file in the data folder. The file does not need to be renamed. Just use nossc program and you are good to go. Here is the patch.

You should definitely be able to use the patch without destroying your macros. The patch does not change the name of the spells. Only unending breath has been renamed. Please try the patch out and see if it does mess up your macros. If it does maybe I can make patch from the german client.

I have an idea for how you can get the patch without screwing with your macros. If you can extract the spell.dbc file from your german client and post a download link on the thread I can make the same changes. Without changing any names ofcourse. Don't worry I'll tell you everything you need to do in order to find the right spell.dbc.
Step 1: Download Mpqeditor from this site MPQ Archives - Downloads
Step 2: In the program find the bar that says "open mpq" then find your wow Data folder. Then go into Cache folder. Then go into the "enGB" or german equivalent. In that folder you will find a file called patch-enGB-14545.MPQ. The directory should look like this Data\Cache\german equivalent of enGB\ Tell the program to open that file.
Step 3: Inside the MPQ file is a folder called DBFilesClient. Open the folder and scroll down to the spell.dbc file.
Step 4: Extract the spell.dbc file and and put it on a free hosting site like Free File Hosting - Online File Storage for Mp3, Videos, Music. Best File Host and ofcourse place a link to the file here.
If you do that then I will make a german version of the patch.
I hope this helps

Quote: I am afraid it is the wrong spell.dbc. The one you found is too small to be the one. The spell.dbc that contains all the spells has a file size of roughly 16.284 KB. The one you found was only 429 KB. Please try and search in the other mpq files in the same folder and check the file size after it has been extracted. If they are all too small try the files in the folder WoW\Data\enGB(you know what I mean)\ The point is to find the biggest one since it has to contain all spells otherwise it will cause errors and confusion in the game if it is not the right one.
I am sure you will find it.

I have tried to make a new patch from the spell.dbc file and here it is. http://www.freefilehosting.net/wow-update-17500
I hope my program have not messed up with the names. If you ever want to swap spells yourself you should know that the 16th row is the id only id you need to swap in order to change a spell's apperance. Also in the patch you can find a document named "Felfire Spells" The first number af the spell name is the id shown in the first row of and editor. The last number in the document is the spell's visual id. That id can be found in the 16th row in an editor. Well always 4 rows before the spell name.
I hope this works. Have fun playing your warlock.
