If you get a second can i pick your brain? maybe you can stop in? I have a 4.3.4 server running on my dell t310, i am trying to login to it from my desktop, but i get stuck at the realm selection, the weird the is, everyone else can log right in, no issues, straight to char select screen then into game world. Cant figure it out.

if this is to vague just I will answer anything you ask, I am just frusterated beyond belief at this point

In my experience, I've only seen this when I had my IP set up wrong somewhere in the server or the client. Make sure your clients realmlist is 127.0.0.1, and see if that fixes it.
If not, look somewhere in the db or the config files and make sure all IP's are set accordingly. I think they should all be the same IP, which is whatever IP your friends are using to connect, but I could be wrong.

I have to set the client to my servers local ip, but they are connecting with my external since they are zccross town, but from what I can tell I have all of my ip and port settings set right, I messed with it for hours, trying to figure out which file it is

Solved, kinda, just used a VPN to shoot my connection out and back in and all works now

The major bug is you imho..
Maybe .. just maybe you should set it up and when u encounter some issues fixx and share it here ?

Having this exact issue with 5.4.8 :/
Mysql, authserver and world server are running fine.
Changed IP in heidisql as told.
Opens all ports.
Set off my firewall and antivirus program.
tried doing the hamichi method
Changed realm list in Client folder.
I am to connect on my misses pc but i am stuck at realmlist. I am able to connect on my computer fine though :/

i used the torrent from there which was from wow.freakz.ro

Fixed this had to redownload the server and change the realmlist data ipaddress in sql again an it worked
