[Archive] A General Help Guide
Quote:tchniq said:It's meant to help the newcomers here who only care about the repack, not about developing one, editing one, compiling, etc. It's forum/repack specific for EmuCoach. If I were to have a thread to help people for the long run, I'd probably create a new thread for each question and go in depth as possible for it.
I don't mean to degrade the purpose of this topic but there's that quote "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime".
Just figured as it says "General help guide" it wouldn't be a specific repack guide (which if it is, may make my suggestion to point to the dlls on the system invalid as they might not have openssl or mysql installed since it's a pre-compile, while they're required to e.g. compile Trinity on your own)

While compiling your won is good, and a lot of people do it, many more either can not, or have no knowledge to do it or even wish to do it. This does not make them "lamer" or what ever, just means they do not wish to go that far into it. I for one do not compile any more, used to, years ago, many different game EMUs. But, I am getting old and have a hard time seeing the screen some times. Not to mention, I loose track of what I am doing at times lol.. Oh well.. So this "General Help Guide" is a very good thing, including the ".dll" things.
On another note, I can not find a question regarding why worldserver.exe shuts down because of a sql database reference for a field not there, or there and not referenced. Either way it shuts down when I place the "0" in the section for the server to use the sql database instead of DBC. Turn that back to default "1" and once again it works. fine.
Only thing I have a problem with now.
I do really apologies if this is answered some where else.. My eyes tend to hurt after reading for a while.
Shoot had to edit lol had the 1 and 0 reversed..
Hmm, ok, never mind this thing. Not sure why, but just fired up the server again and this time it is still running and ready.. So far.. First time since installing this repack it is running with the worldserver.cfg marked for using the database instead of DBC only.
Sorry, will keep checking to see if any thing happens.. Just seems wierd that it is now running with DBC.EnforceItemAttributes = 0 instead of the "1"... And the ONLY change has been the donfig file for worldserver and that is the only change. "DBC.EnforceItemAttributes = 0"

Any other known fixes to 0xc00007b error? Tried everything in the tomshardware.. except reinstall windows, ugh.

Be cautious with any download links, they're not always safe.

Ok so I am not really sure what I need to do from here. I have started all services except apache is doesnt seem to do anything. World server auth server loaded sql is loaded. After starting client and trying to login it just says information is not valid, please check your details.
I have tried the default admin admin, I have also created my own account which I can see in the SQL database. Can anyone assist as to why the client doesnt seem to be looking for my server? Do I need to edit anything? FYI the client was a fresh download and nothing has been changed in it, version is 4.3.4

Hey guys, what are the different levels of GMLEVEL? I know we set 3 or nothing, but what are the 1 and 2? Is there a breakdown of this someplace?
It seems to me there must be a varying degree of abilities built into this. So maybe /example: GM level 1 can only teleport and .die [?]
Just saying, this would be great to know. If there are varying degrees of GM, I'd love to set some of these on certain player accounts in hopes they can get themselves out of some troubles when that occurs, but not have full sweeping authority to break stuff. ![]()
Thanks!
